Leeds 2-0 Crystal Palace: Bamford strike takes Whites into the top half of the table

Patrick Bamford-Leeds United

Leeds United secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League earlier tonight.

The win takes Marcelo Bielsa’ side into the top half of the Premier League table and the fans will be delighted if Leeds can finish there in their first season back at the top tier of English football.

Jack Harrison scored the opening goal of the game via a deflected effort 3 minutes into the game and the home side managed to dominate the contest from then on.

Star striker Patrick Bamford has been outstanding this season and he netted his 12th goal of the season to give Leeds the win.

He could have easily completed his hat trick but the striker missed two good chances in the first half.

Bamford scored his 100th career goal tonight and he will be hoping to build on his recent run of performances and add to his goalscoring tally for the season.

Meanwhile, Jack Harrison could have scored his second goal of the game as well but the Leeds United winger hammered the crossbar on the 84th minute with a powerful drive.

Leeds are now 10th in the Premier League table having won three of their last four matches and Crystal Palace remained 12th with 29 points.

The whites will take on Arsenal in their next Premier League game and the win tonight will have given them immense confidence heading into the crunch clash.

That win takes @LUFC into the top half. If they maintain that it would be a great achievement in their first season back in the top flight. What’s more they’ve done it playing attractive, open football that makes every game good to watch. Their bus is never parked. Refreshing.
