Liverpool and Tottenham are interested in signing the Aston Villa centre back Ezri Konsa at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has done exceedingly well for the West Midlands club this season and he is undoubtedly one of the most talented young defenders in the league right now.
Both Spurs and Liverpool could use defensive reinforcements at the end of the season and the Aston Villa defender would be as well long term investment.
Jose Mourinho has been using Eric Dier as a centre back this season and he needs to bring in a specialist defender soon. Meanwhile, Liverpool have been without their top three centre backs due to injuries and someone like Konsa could help immensely.
Liverpool are in desperate need of more defensive depth especially because of how injury-prone the likes of Gomez and Matip are.
It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa are prepared to sell a key player in the summer.
The 23-year-old could prove to be a very expensive signing for Spurs or Liverpool. It remains to be seen where he ends up eventually.
With the Euros coming up in the summer, it will be interesting to see if Gareth Southgate picks him for the England squad now.
The Villa defender will have certainly justified his selection if it happens.
