Liverpool identify Renato Sanches as a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum

Jurgen Klopp-Liverpool

Liverpool are thought to be keen on signing the Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.

The former Bayer Munich midfielder could be signed as a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum if the Dutchman refuses to agree on a new deal with the Premier League champions.

The midfielder will be a free agent at the end of the season. Ideally, Liverpool should look to keep him at the club by offering him a new deal.

Apparently, Liverpool want to keep the player at Anfield but Gini Wijnaldum is looking to sign a four-year contract with the Reds and Liverpool are unwilling to offer the 30-year-old midfielder a long term deal.

It will be interesting to see if the two parties can reach some sort of compromise in the next few months.

There is no doubt that Gini Wijnaldum is one of the best players at Liverpool and losing him would certainly weaken Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

Meanwhile, the Liverpool manager is an admirer of the 23-year-old Lille midfielder who has been in impressive form for the French outfit over the past year.

The Portuguese midfielder has immense talent and Klopp might be able to help him develop into a top-class player in future.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool move for the 23-year-old at the end of this season.

The French outfit are going through a financial crisis right now and Liverpool have the means to exploit that and lure Renato Sanches away from them in the summer.
