Liverpool Update: Mohamed Salah’s unhappiness, Ismaila Sarr transfer in January

Liverpool 4-3 Leeds Salah saves the blushes as Champions struggle to cope with Bielsa-ball

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the club recently.

The Egyptian international recently revealed an interview with Spanish publication AS that he would be open to a move to Spain.

His former international teammate Mohamed Aboutrika also revealed that the player is unhappy at Liverpool after he was snubbed for the captaincy role against Midtjylland earlier in the season. Salah explained his disappointment to his friend and former teammate in a private call.

Aboutrika added that Liverpool are looking to cash in on the Egyptian because of economic reasons.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds can hold onto the Egyptian international beyond this season. He is undoubtedly one of their best players ever and losing him could be quite a blow for the Reds.

Ismailia Sarr deal agreed in January

Meanwhile, Liverpool were very close to signing Ismailia Sarr from Watford last month.

According to the player’s representative, the player was ready to sign a contract with the reigning Premier League champions but Liverpool failed to arrange the necessary funds to complete the transfer in the end.

Apparently the attacker was set to join the Ritz in a €40 million deal. The deal was so advanced that the player’s agent had asked Liverpool forward Sadio Mane to arrange an apartment for his client.

Sarr has been linked with a move away from the championship in the recent months and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool revisit their interest in him at the end of the season.
