Ilkay Gundogan-Manchester City

The home side scored two late goals to secure all three points.

Manchester City are now up to the top of the Premier League table and they will be open to stay there until the end of the season.

Manchester City could have easily increased their advantage but Phil Foden was denied twice by Emiliano Martinez.

Bertrand Traore was denied five minutes into the second half. Joao cancelo hit the crossbar a few minutes later as well.

Silva did well to control Rodrigo’s pass and hit an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net to give Manchester City their lead.

Gundogan converted a penalty after a handball by Matty Cash in the Aston Villa box for City’s second goal.

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith received red card for arguing with match officials after his team conceded the first goal.

Manchester City haeve 38 points right now and they will be hoping to build on this win and pull further clear of their rivals at the top of the table. They are now one of the favourites to lift the title and it will be interesting to see if they can put together a winning run now.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa have 26 points and they are 11th in the table right now.
