Man United update: Pogba injury, Neville’s scathing take on defence, Solskjaer keeping tabs on Haaland

Paul Pogba-Manchester United

Pogba to be sidelined for few more weeks

Manchester United fear star midfielder Paul Pogba would be sidelined for longer than expected, with him now facing a battle against time to be fit for the clashes against Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Frenchman picked up a thigh injury during the game against Everton and he has also missed United’s last two Premier League fixtures.

Neville hits out at Lindelof and Maguire

Garry Neville has taken a swipe at Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof following their lacklustre performance in the 1-1 draw against West Brom. Neville also claims that the defensive duo can’t coexist in the same line-up.

Here’s Neville’s assessment on the duo after the disappointing draw against the Baggies.

“What happens is Lindelof gets pinned.

“He got pinned by a player who’s stronger than him, who out-muscles him and who bullies him. Once you’re in that position, it’s a nightmare.

“Lindelof does struggle aerially, whereas Maguire struggles when the ball is played in behind him and he has someone running at him one-on-one.”

Solskjaer keeping tabs on Haaland

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he has been keeping tabs on Erling Haaland amid interest from the Red Devils.

The Norwegian striker was close to moving to Old Trafford in the summer of 2019 before he opted to join Borussia Dortmund.

“Erling is going to have a fantastic career,” said the Red Devils boss. “I follow Erling. I have always said that.

“Was it 18 months we had together or something like that? Almost two years, perhaps. A fantastic time.

“He will surely have a super career both for Norway and his club. He is doing incredibly well for Dortmund. We will see where he ends up. As a Norwegian and someone who has worked with him, it is, of course, great that he is doing so well.”
