Manchester City grind out a 1-0 win over Arsenal despite injury issues

Raheem Sterling-Manchester City

Manchester City picked up a 1-0 win over Arsenal in the Premier League and Pep Guardiola will be delighted with his team’s performance.

Raheem Sterling scored the only goal of the game halfway through the first half.

The England winger converted after Bernd Leno had saved from Phil Foden’s effort on the 23rd minute.

The home side came into the game without key players like Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus and Kevin de Bruyne and they will be reasonably pleased with all three points against the top team like Arsenal.

The Gunners have improved a lot since Mikel Arteta’s arrival and they would have expected to get something out of this game especially with city missing several key players.

It will be interesting to see how the London club bounce back from this defeat.

Manchester City are now 10th in the table with seven points an Arsenal have nine points having played a match more.

The Gunners are sixth in the table right now and they will be hoping to finish in the top four and secure Champions League football for the next year.

Arsenal have missed out on Champions League football for a while now and a club of their stature will be desperate to get back into the Premier European competition next season.

Meanwhile, Man City will be looking to climb up the table in their next few games when their key players are back in action.
