Manchester City have reportedly submitted a bid of around £100 million for the Aston Villa Captain Jack Grealish.

The 25-year-old playmaker has been linked with a move away from the West Midlands club all summer, and the Premier League champions have now made their official approach.

According to reports, Manchester City have now declined to comment when contacted regarding the offer for Grealish, and Villa are silent on the matter as well.

Grealish was one of the best playmakers in the Premier League last season, and he could prove to be a superb long term acquisition for Manchester City.

The Aston Villa midfielder has the quality and the potential to replace someone like David Silva in the long run.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can wrap up the signing in the coming days.

The Aston Villa midfielder scored six goals and picked up ten assists in the Premier League last season. He was pretty impressive during his cameos in the European Championships with England as well.

A player of his calibre deserves to play for a club that can challenge for the major trophies, and Manchester City would be the ideal destination for him.

Furthermore, the Premier League champions will be able to offer him Champions League football next season, and Grealish is likely to be tempted to make a move.

If the transfer goes through, it will shatter the British transfer record set by Harry Maguire
