Manchester City Transfer update: Inter striker Lukaku wanted, Latest on Messi

Inter 2-0 Udinese - Lukaku's brace lift Inter in second spot

City to replace Aguero with Lukaku

Manchester City are reportedly keeping close tabs on Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, who has been impressive in the Italian top flight for the past two seasons.

Following his poor stint at Man Utd, Lukaku managed to rediscover his best form yet under Antonio Conte, netting goals in numbers.

City are currently looking for a long-time replacement of Sergio Aguero, whose current deal expires this summer and there are no signs over contract talks yet.

The Sky Blues are believed to be impressed by Lukaku’s work rate and ready to recruit him in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is said to be another top target for City, who are ready to go for him in the upcoming summer transfer window although his £68m release clause would come into effect only from 2022.

City to follow a less-aggressive approach for Messi

Barcelona and co have recently become more frustrated about PSG’s approach to sign Lionel Messi – with players like Neymar, Paredes, Angel Di Maria blatantly claiming that they are confident of signing Messi.

Ronald Koeman, the Blaugrana manager, recently blasted on Di Maria for his comments on the six-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Hence, Manchester City want to follow a no-nonsense approach in their pursuit of the Argentine ace, whose future is up in the air as his contract expires this summer.

City and PSG are understood to be the suitors of the 33-year-old given that they only can afford his salary even at the time of financial downturn.
