Manchester United Roundup: Latest on Lingard, Jones, Ighalo, Williams, Rojo, Romero

Manchester United Premier League

Brandon Williams

Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams has been linked with a move away from the Premier League club next month and it will be interesting to see if the 20-year-old defender goes out alone in search of regular first-team football.

As per reports, the defender has been linked with Newcastle United.

Williams has struggled to get regular game time at Old Trafford and he needs a loan move in order to play more often and continue his development as a footballer.

 Jesse Lingard

Meanwhile, Jesse Lingard could be on his way out of Manchester United when the transfer window reopens in January.

The forward will be out of contract at the end of this season and it would be wise of the Premier League club to cash in on him next month.

He is no longer a key player for Ole Gunner Solskjaer and Manchester United can do without him for the rest of the season.

Odion Ighalo

Odion Ighalo’s loan spell with Manchester United is coming to an end as well and the striker is expected to return to China on January 31st.

Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero

Argentine duo Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero could be on their way out of Manchester United next month as well.

Both players will be free agents at the end of this season and it would be the right time for Manchester United to cash in on them as opposed to losing them on a free transfer.

Sergio Romero was heavily linked with Everton during the summer transfer window and it will be interesting to see if the Argentine goalkeeper moves to another Premier League club.

Apparently Sheffield United are keen on signing Marcos Rojo and Newcastle have shown an interest in him as well.

Phil Jones

Defender Phil Jones has been frozen out of the Manchester United squad this season and it will be interesting to see if he can return to the first-team fold next month.

The defender was injured and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Jones will be ready for action next month.

He was recently linked with a move to Newcastle United and it remains to be seen whether the player is up for sale when the window reopens.

Daniel James

Meanwhile former Swansea winger Daniel James could be on his way out of Old Trafford after a turbulent 18 months.

He has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at Manchester United and the signing of Ivorian winger Amad Diallo from Atalanta has cast further doubts on James’s future at Old Trafford.
