Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang set to sign a 3-year contract with Arsenal

Arsenal 4-0 Norwich Arsenal moved to seventh spot

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is all set to sign a new three year contract with the club this summer.

As per reports, an agreement is close between the two parties now.

Aubameyang has been the best player at the club for a while now and he deserves an extension. The striker is currently in the final year of his contract and his departure would have been a blow for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta will now look to build his team around the Gabon international next season.

The Gunners are close to signing Willian on a free transfer as well.

It will be interesting to see if they can challenge for the top four and bring the Champions League football back to Emirates next year.

Aubameyang has scored 22 goals in the Premier League this season and he has helped the Gunners win the FA Cup as well.

His brace in the FA Cup final helped Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1. His goals were vital to their semi final win over Manchester City as well.

The fans will be delighted to see that the club are doing their best to keep their best players. Arsenal cannot afford to lose any key players this summer, especially because of the current health crisis. It won’t be easy bringing in top players and therefore Arteta must ensure that the squad is not weakened.

Arsenal recently revealed their plan to make 55 members of staff redundant so that they can invest in the squad and the Willian and Aubameyang deals have come at the cost of those job cuts.
