Premier League clubs set to welcome back fans in stadiums next month

Championship playoffs for Premier League qualification

Fans are set to be allowed into stadiums in England once the lockdown is over.

According to reports, supporters will be permitted to attend events in stadiums after the 2nd of December.

The news will come as a massive boost to the English clubs (Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc.) who have been desperately trying to survive without match day revenue for months.

The report explains but stadiums in the Tier 1 areas will be allowed to hold 4000 socially distanced fans under stadiums in Tier 2 areas which are viewed as high risk will be allowed to hold 2000 fans or fewer.

Meanwhile, indoor stadiums in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 areas will be permitted to hold 1000 fans.

As for the Tier 3 areas, football will have to continue behind closed doors as those places are viewed as high-risk areas.

The Coronavirus pandemic has had a major financial impact on English clubs and the return of the supporters will certainly help them to some extent.

Premier League clubs have missed out on millions in revenue because of the decision to continue with football behind closed doors and they will be hoping to recoup some of the losses over the coming months now.

Boris Johnson said: “I can confirm that the national restrictions will end on December 2 and they will not be renewed. Collective worship, weddings and outdoor sports can resume and shops, personal care and the wider leisure sector can reopen.

“In tiers 1 and 2, spectator sports will be free to resume inside and outside with capacity limits and social distancing. Later this week, we will announce which areas will fall into which tier – I hope on Thursday – based on analysis of cases in all age groups and the rate of which cases are rising or falling.”
