Premier League transfers: Liverpool want Renato Sanches, Klopp on Phillips and Arsenal eye attacking duo

Klopp Liverpool unlikely to have very busy transfer window

Liverpool eyeing Sanches move

Portuguese international midfielder Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months and it appears that Premier League giants Liverpool are keen on securing his services.

The 24 year old is likely to cost around £34 million according to Spanish publication Fichajes.

Jurgen Klopp could definitely use some depth in a central midfield and signing the Portuguese midfielder could prove to be a wise move.

Sanches is yet to reach his peak and working with a world class manager like club could help him develop into a top class player in future.

Klopp heaps praise on Phillips

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on defender Nathaniel Phillips claiming that he has shown incredible development under the German’s management in recent seasons.

Klopp compared his development to that of the Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski and he also revealed that Phillips does not deserve to sit on the bench at the Merseyside club every week and a move away in January could be on the cards.

“I have to mention Nat Phillips,” Klopp said. “People often ask me which player made the biggest improvements under my leadership, and I say Robert Lewandowski.

“That’s probably right, but not far off that is Nat Phillips, just in a completely different department.

“I remember when I saw Nat Phillips first. I spoke to him after the game and he’s one of the smartest players I ever worked with. I told him, ‘You know you are not the easiest on the eye, eh?’

“He improved in pretty much everything since, and he’s not playing. Life is sometimes not fair and I can’t blame him.

“We cannot keep him forever, that’s clear. We needed him, just to be safe, for that half-year. We will see what happens in the window. He was fine doing it because he’s a great guy.

“His development is absolutely insane. You saw it last year, you would have said ‘Nat Phillips, oh my god, he plays in the last line?’

“People love him because of his heading but with his feet he is unbelievable. He’s a late starter, but his development is unbelievable. I would sign him for any club except Liverpool, because we have him.”

Phillips had a sustained run of games in the first team last year because of numerous injury problems and the 24 year old managed to make quite an impression with important performances that helped Liverpool secure a top four finish.

However, key players like Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez have returned from injuries this season and the player has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth.

Phillips has the quality to be a regular starter for a Premier League club and it remains to be seen how his future unfolds over the next few weeks.

Arsenal keen on Calvert-Lewin and Jonathan David

Arsenal are looking to improve their attacking options next summer and they have identified the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jonathan David as potential targets as per Evening Standard.

Calvert-Lewin has been exceptional for Everton and he has proven himself to be a reliable Premier League goal scorer.

If Alexandre Lacazette moves on in the summer, the England international striker could prove to be a superb acquisition for the long term.

Similarly, Jonathan David has had an outstanding impact since moving to Lille and he has the potential to reach the very top. The Canadian striker has already helped his side win the league title and he has impressed in the European outings as well.

David will be hoping to make a step up in his career soon and a move to Arsenal could be ideal for his development as well.
