Roy Keane likens Arteta’s summer signing to Arsenal legend

Arsenal Transfer Round-up Lacazette and Torreira swap

Arsenal summer signing Thomas Partey has received a lot of praise for his performances in the Premier League so far and he was outstanding against Manchester United over the weekend.

The 27-year-old midfielder was arguably the best player on the pitch and he dominated the Manchester United midfield with ease.

Partey helped Arsenal breakdown the Manchester United play and set up counter-attacks from the deep.

He had already shown his quality with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and in the Spanish League and it seems that he has managed to adapt to the Premier League with ease.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has now lavished praise on the Arsenal midfielder claiming that he could be the ideal successor to the Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira.

Thomas  Partey certainly has the skill set to have an impact like Vieira and it will be interesting to see if he can build on his impressive start to life at Arsenal in the coming months.

Apart from his defensive qualities, Vieira was exceptional driving forward as well and Partey will have to work on that side of his game.

It will certainly be exciting for the Arsenal fans to watch him develop over the next couple of seasons.

Roy Keane said: “When you watch a player live, that’s when you can judge and the more I watch him, the more I wish he was in the Man United midfield. I think this kid has got a chance of matching what Patrick Vieira used to do. He could definitely be Arsenal’s successor to Vieira.”Message 1 of 473
