The South Korean has been in outstanding form this season and he has now scored nine goals in the Premier League to top the scoring charts.
Jose Mourinho will be delighted with his team’s performance against Manchester City and Tottenham will now look to build on their impressive start to the season and challenge for the Premier League title.
Today’s win leaves Tottenham on top of the table with 20 points from nine Premier League games and they have shown that they have the quality to go all the way this season.
Meanwhile Manchester City are now 10th in the table with 12 points from eight Premier League games.
Pep Guardiola’s side have a negative goal difference and this is probably their worst start to a League season in a long time.
After the massive spending spree in the summer, this start is simply unacceptable from Manchester City and it will be interesting to see if they can bounce back in the coming weeks.
A team of their calibre is expected to challenge for the Premier League title every year and they should have performed a lot better.
After missing out on the title to Liverpool in humiliating fashion last season, Manchester City were expected to come back strongly and start the season in red hot form.
Tottenham will now face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their next game and Manchester City will host Burnley at home.
