Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered Angel Di Maria, to land French midfielder Paul Pogba in a move that would see him joining his hometown club. World Cup winning midfielder grew up in a Parisian suburb, Lagny-sur-Marne.

As reported in Calciomercato, PSG have submitted a swap deal, for Di Maria as well as Julian Draxler be moving to England, to try and convince Manchester United to let Pogba go.

Angel Di Maria history with United

Di Maria spent the 2014/15 season at Old Trafford after his £59.7m move from Real Madrid. Though he enjoyed a fine start with three goals in his first five Premier League appearances but could not manage to score all season as the No7 curse continued.

Next summer, he was sold for £44m, joining the Ligue 1 Champions, where has scored 81 in 217 games across his five seasons in Ligue 1, winning the title three times.

But considering the age of the Argentinian and past experience, it seems very unlikely that either Manchester United or Di Maria would want this switch.

Julian Draxler eyeing move to Premier League

Julian Draxler, however, would no doubt be more up United’s street – especially because he is understood to want a move to the Premier League.

At 26, the former Schalke and Wolfsburg star is surely approaching his prime and could play across the pitch in an attacking role.

United have been looking at Jack Grealish but Draxler’s trophy-winning and international-level experience – including winning the World Cup in 2014 – could make him a better option.

Paul Pogba – Transfer Links

Paul Pogba has always been linked to Real Madrid and Juventus, since he arrived in Manchester second time. Now it is reported that Inter Milan could be another potential suitor along with Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is very keen to lure the British record signing to the Bernabeu. A return to Serie A champion Juventus, where he spent four years between 2012 and 2016, is another possibility.

It is unclear if the offer would also include money with United valuing Pogba, who was once values £150million. But post Coronavirus outbreak, the transfer fee would not be same again. With a discount of reported 30% as the Football seasons are halted all over the world, the frenchman will be values around £100million.

Pogba is likely to be at the centre of a four-way transfer tussle this summer, with United knowing he would leave for free when his contract expires at the end of next season if the 12-month extension clause is not exercised – although the Red Devils are thought to be relaxed about the situation.
