Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad – Goals

Sergio Ramos scored from the penalty at 50th minute of the match, as Sociedad found it difficult to contain Vinicius Jr, who was obstructed and tripped inside penalty area..

Karim Benzema again found back of the net as he doubled visitor’s lead at 70th minute of the match. The goal was reviewed by VAR for a possible handball, as Benzema controlled a Federico Valverde cross with his shoulder before firing home.

Substitute Adnan Januzaj almost made it 1-1 with a strike from outside penalty area but the goal was ruled out for offside. VAR decided against the goal as it though Merino was blocking goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’ view, so interfering with play. But Merino made some correction seven minutes to regular time.

Real Madrid suffered huge blow when their captain Sergio Ramos was injured after he scored the goal and had to be withdrawn by Zidane at 60th minute.

Real Madrid, who have only won one La Liga title twice during the decade have an advantageous position over Barca, with better head-to-head record.
