Rossoneri are back to winning ways with 2-0 comprehensive victory over Torino.
AC Milan have recovered from their defeat against Juventus as they have now beaten Torino 2-0 at San Siro.
Rafael Leao gave the hosts an early breakthrough as he found the nets after being assisted by Brahim Diaz.
Leao has been exceptional this season, already racking up 5 goals and 4 assists in 13 appearances.
Milan were handed a penalty soon after Diaz was fouled inside the box. Franck Kessie successfully converted the penalty to double the lead for the hosts.
Torino came close to scoring their first goal when Ricardo Rodriguez’s free-kick, unfortunately, hit the woodwork.
Stefano Pioli’s men nearly caught the visitors out in the counter-attack and could have added their third goal were it not for Sirigu’s vital save.
Milan were able to earn three points in the end comprehensively, thus recovering from the last week’s defeat to Juventus, their first loss of the season.
Nonetheless, Rossoneri comfortably sit at the top of the table, four points clear of their arch-rivals Inter Milan, who perhaps have played a match fewer.
Pioli offered his thoughts on the win while heaping praises on Kessie, who scored the penalty goal for Milan.
“I must admit, I was not at all surprised by this performance.”
“I know these lads and expected them to give this kind of a response. The first half was excellent, particularly in terms of quality, and we inevitably came under pressure during the second half against a Torino side in good form.”
Kessie not only converted the penalty, but is confirming his status as one of the only players Milan simply cannot do without.
“Franck is a complete player, he gives us physicality, energy, quality, protects the defence and knits the moves going forward too. He has this eternally positive mentality in the match situation, he’s the first to help out a teammate or reassure them. This is a young side that needs guidance and encouragement, so Kessie is invaluable in that sense.”
