Roma have been heavily linked with a move for the Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer, and it seems that the transfer is finally nearing its completion.

According to reports, the Switzerland international will join up with Jose Mourinho‘s squad next week for the training camp in Portugal.

The newly appointed Roma manager is currently pushing for the transfer to be completed as soon as possible and personal terms have already been agreed with the 28-year-old midfielder.

Roma and Arsenal are now closing in on an agreement as well, and the player is all set to begin a new adventure in Italy next season.

Xhaka has been outstanding for his nation in the European Championships this summer, and the Roma fans will be hoping for more of the same from him in the Italian Serie A league next season.

The midfielder’s time at Arsenal has been a mixed bag, and the 28-year-old will be hoping for a fresh start in Italy now.

Arsenal have already signed Albert Lokonga to strengthen their midfield, and it will be interesting to see if they can bring in other reinforcements after Xhaka’s exit is confirmed. The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Houssem Aouar in recent weeks as well.
