Inter consider selling Achraf Hakimi amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea

Achraf Hakimi-Inter Milan

The Moroccan ace could make a move to the Premier League this summer.

Inter Milan are said to be considering selling wing-back Achraf Hakimi due to the financial crisis.

According to reports, Inter have failed to pay their first instalment of €10m to Real Madrid, the club where they signed Hakimi from, and considering their financial struggles, the Italian club could be forced to sell the young Moroccan in the summer window.

Hakimi made his move permanently from the Spanish Capital club to Inter last summer while spending the last two seasons at Dortmund.

The 22-year-old has been a revelation for Nerazzurri with some impressive displays in Serie A thus far. He has racked up a total of 6 goals and 3 assists whilst playing predominantly as a right wing-back.

Now, Inter are happy to receive a fee around £40m for his sale, with Premier League turning out to be a possible destination.

Arsenal have been credited with a long-term interest in Hakimi and he could be a valuable addition to the squad, as he can give healthy competition to Hector Bellerin, who is fighting to get back to his best.

Arsenal’s fellow London rivals club Chelsea are also said to be keeping tabs on the Moroccan youngster. But it remains to be seen whether they would go for Hakimi while having young Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta at their disposal.

Inter are currently pushing hard for the Serie A title and Hakimi’s presence is very much crucial to Antonio Conte. They trail table leaders and arch-rivals AC Milan by two points.
