Inter Milan kept their march towards the Serie A title alive with an impressive win over Genoa on Sunday.

First-half goals from in-form striker Romelu Lukaku, and two second-half strikes from Matteo Darmian and Alexis Sanchez ensured the Nerazzurri remains top of the table after 24 games.

After strolling to a win in the Milan derby last week, Antonio Conte’s men put up another impressive performance to solidify their grip on the top spot.

The hosts let loose the breaks from the very first minute of the game with in-form striker Romelu Lukaku opening the scoring within one minute. The Belgian collected a pass from strike partner Martinez within the first minute and unleashed a fine shot from 20 yards that beat Perin.

From there, Inter Milan took hold of proceedings and could have added to their tally in the first half, but Perin was able to deny Lukaku and then Martinez to keep his side in the game before the break.

But the hosts were not to be held after the break, with the brilliant Lukaku setting up Darmian in the 69th minute to double his side’s lead.

The Belgian was again involved in his side’s third goal, as Alexis Sanchez headed home after his parried shot to seal the win for Inter.

With AC Milan playing Roma later in the day, the result means that Inter temporarily move seven points clear at the top of Serie A, while Genoa drop to 13th place.
