The Portuguese boss saw his Roma side fall to a 3-0 defeat against Inter Milan.

Jose Mourinhos AS Roma succumbed to a 3-0 defeat against Inter Milan in Serie A at Stadio Olimpico last night.

Goals from Hakan Calhanoglu, Edin Dzeko and Denzel Dumfries in the first half helped Inter seal all three points.

Mourinho, who cut a frustrated figure after the defeat, hesitated to take any questions in the post-match interview.

In addition, the Portuguese boss went at a reporter, stating (h/t Goal.com): “Your job is a lot easier than ours which is why we earn a lot more than you.”

In his monologue, Mourinho added: “Inter are stronger than us in normal conditions. In non-normal conditions, they are much stronger than us. Last season, they were 29 points ahead of Roma. Today, with injuries and suspended players, it was very, very difficult.

“Our attacking potential was practically nil. It was very important to score a goal, because we would only have two or three chances. We had three and didn’t score.

“When you play with a defence that has [Roger] Ibanez and various others in positions that are not their usual ones, you still cannot concede the first and third goals. You just can’t.”

Despite starting the season on an impressive note, Giallorossi have failed to maintain their consistency. Furthermore, they hold a poor record against big teams this season – losing against AC Milan, Lazio, Juventus and Inter.

Giallorossi are currently fifth in the Serie A table with 25 points, trailing Atalanta by 9 points.
