Juve have bounced back from their Inter Milan defeat with a win against Bologna

Juventus have returned the winning ways after defeating Bologna 2-0 at home.

The pressure was mounting on the Bianconeri following the 2-0 slump against Inter in an already dull-looking title-defence.

Brazilian midfielder Arthur opened the account in the 17th minute, with his strike taking a huge deflection before finding the nets. It was also his first goal of the season.

Arthur’s midfield partner Weston McKennie scored a fine header from Juan Cuadrado’s corner kick to double the lead in the 71st minute and it turned out to be the winning goal in the end.

McKennie had another stellar display in what looks like an impressive debut season. The USMNT youngster has quickly established himself as a key cog in the midfield under Andrea Pirlo.

Bologna had a decent amount of chances but none proved to be effective. Juve goalkeeper Szczesny made a couple of good saves to prevent the visitors from scoring. One was against his teammate Cuadrado who almost scored an own goal but the Polish keeper was at his reactive best.

Juventus are back on the winning track following a disappointing defeat against Nerazzurri.

However, Pirlo expressed his discontent over his side’s performance in the second half.

“It was important to bring intensity to the game, which we above all did in the first half and could’ve killed the game, but if you don’t finish it off, then the match will always be in the balance.”
