Juventus approached Mauricio Pochettino after Sarri’s sacking

Mauricio Pochettino - Favourite to take charge as Newcastle Manager

The Bianconeri have approached the former Tottenham boss after Maurizio Sarri’s sacking.

Juventus have reportedly sought former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino after the announcement of Maurizio Sarri’s departure.

The Bianconeri decided to part ways with Sarri in the wake of their defeat against Lyon in the Champions League. Despite winning the Serie A title, the former Napoli boss has been relieved of his duties after a single season at Turin.

Sarri took over the reins after Massimilano Allegri left the club last summer. In his debut season, the 61-year-old suffered 7 defeats in the league, with only two wins out of last seven games.

Juve have now turned their attention towards Pochettini in the quest to find a new manager ahead of next season.

Pochettino is understood to be in the lookout for green pastures after he left Spurs last year. PSG, Manchester United, Barcelona are understood to be keeping an eye on the former Espanyol boss.

The Argentine’s best-ever season was the 2019/20 season in which Spurs reached the finals of the Champions League, beating the likes of Manchester City and Ajax in the process. However, Spurs were eventually defeated by Liverpool.

Despite not winning any trophies with the North London club in his six-year stint, Pchettino had managed to earn a name for his style of play and the ability to nurture young talents.

Pochettino will be an optimistic choice for Juventus, and under his guidance, they can push for the Champions League title next season.
