Lazio 1-3 Udinese: Lazio stunned, Immobile scored a consolation goal

Togay Arslan-Udinese

Lazio were stunned at the Stadio Olimpico by Udinese on Saturday afternoon with the visitors winning 3-1.

Goals from Tolgay Arslan, Ignacio Pussetto and Fernando Forestieri saw the visitors are into a three-goal lead. Although Ciro Immobile reduced the deficit from the spot late in the game, it was not enough to stop Lazio from recording their second home loss of the season.

The game began with both teams exchanging shots at both ends, with Lazio taking the greater share in possession.

But it was the visitors who raced into a deserved lead thanks to an 18th-minute goal by Tolgay Arslan. The German-born midfielder found the bottom right corner with a right footed shot from outside the box after he was picked up Roberto Pereyra.

The visitors who were effective on the counter were ahead by two goals just before the breakthrough Ignacio Pussetto. Following a failed Lazio set-piece, the visitors broke quickly on the counter, with Rodrigo De Paul finding Pussetto in the centre of the box score.

With the game slipping away, Lazio emerged from the break with greater urgency, with the coach making a raft of changes.

The changes though were not enough to stop the visitors from adding the third of their night in the 71st minute through a superb Fernando Forestieri goal.

The home side did offer themselves something to cheer about, with Ciro Immobile converting from the spot after being fouled by Juan Musso.

The result will offer Udinese a significant boost, as this was their second win in as many games.

Lazio Meanwhile will be unpleased with their performance on the day which sees them remain outside of the European spot on the table. They are back in action in the Champions League this Wednesday as they travel to Germany to take on Borussia Dortmund.
