Napoli 2-0 Parma: Elmas, Politano goals help Napoli move to top-four

The Neapolitans didn’t have much trouble facing Parma, who were thrashed 2-0 at Stadio Sao Paulo.

Napoli have beaten Parma 2-0 to return to the winning ways in Serie A following the humbling defeat against Verona last week.

Prior to that, Napoli ended up as the runners up of supercoppa Italiana after losing to Juventus in the final.

However, the win against Spezia midweek provided a much-needed break for Partenopei and they have now continued their momentum against Parma.

Elmas put the home side ahead through a brilliant solo effort, leaving a handful of defenders behind his trail in the process.

With no much intentions from both the sides in the second half, the game was quite a drab for the larger parts of the game.

However, Matteo Politano’s deflected strike in the dying minutes of the game made it 2-0 for PSG and the goal proved to be the final one of the day

Gennaro Gattuso has been reportedly under pressure due to some bad results over the past few weeks but today’s win against bottom dwellers Parma could give them enough confidence.

The Italian managers offered his thought on the win.

“Playing against Parma is not easy, ” Gattuso said “They always come to press high. We played well and I liked the team.

“We smelled the danger when it happened, I saw a real performance even if it had less technique than usual.”
