Parma 1-2 Inter Milan: Sanchez double helps Inter continue their impressive run in Serie A

Inter Milan have comfortably gone six points clear at the top of the table after edging out Parma 2-1

Alexis Sanchez teamed up with Romelu Lukaku up front, thus recreating the attacking line-up of Manchester United years ago.

The Chilean, who was given the nod ahead of Lautaro Martinez, made good use of his opportunity after scoring a double inside eight minutes in the second half.

Samir Handanovic produced a brilliant save in the first half while Lukaku wasn’t at his best after missing his opportunity before the end of the first half.

Sanchez put the Nerazzurri ahead, beating the clumsy defence of the hosts and he added another in no time to give his side a two-goal cushion.

Parma halved the deficit sooner but that wasn’t enough for them to stop Inter from taking another three points.

Antonio Conte, who has led the Nerazzurri to new heights this season, offered his thoughts on the victory.

“I don’t think it was an ugly game, as we scored two goals and had many other chances to extend our lead.

“We conceded an avoidable goal, but other than that, I don’t think Samir Handanovic made many big saves.

“I think that I am a very democratic coach, so I give nothing for free and I am patient to a certain degree. We have a team and the individual comes after that, so everyone has to think in that sense if they want to get along with me.”
