Sampdoria picked up a shock 3-0 win over Lazio in the Italian League earlier today at Luigi Ferraris Stadium.
Fabio Quagliarella gave the home side a lead on the 32nd minute and Tommaso Augello doubled their advantage nine minutes later.
Mikkel Damsgaard wrapped up the scoring on the 74th minute and the home side will be thoroughly pleased with their performance here.
They were the underdogs heading into the game and Lazio were expected to pick up all three points. It will be interesting to see how the away side bounce back in their next game now.
Lazio challenged for the Italian League title last year and they will be hoping to replicate their feat this year as well.
The away side have won just one of their four League games so far and they will have to improve immensely in the next few weeks in order to challenge the likes of Juventus.
Meanwhile Sampdoria a ninth in the table after today’s win with six points from just four games.
The home side were the underdogs heading into the game and they were outstanding throughout the 90 minutes. Sampdoria deserved to win here and Lazio can have no complaints with the result.
Lazio are currently 11th in the table and they will be hoping to put together a winning run now and climb up the table and close the gap with the likes of AC Milan and Napoli.
