Roma have edged out Udinese in a thrilling encounter at Friuli Stadium.

AS Roma have picked up a narrow 1-0 win against hosts Udinese in Serie A encounter.

The game was intense throughout the entirety however Pedro’s goal made the difference.

In the opening half, Udinese and Roma both shared their intentions in front of the goal, but to little or no effect.

Edin Dzeko’s worrying form continued as he missed an easy chance to put his side ahead as he did against Juventus last week.

Leonardo Spinazzola’s threatening cross was also protected from goalkeeper Juan Musso. The left-back had an impressive game as he was often found dangerous by the opponents on the left flank.

On the other end, Antonio Mirante was kept active by the hosts as the Italian keeper denied a long-range effort from Kevin Lasagna.

Rodrigo de Paul, Udinese’s primary creator, was let down by his teammates after his threatening passes went begging in the end.

Roma managed to break the deadlock around the hour mark when Pedro scored a blinder, pouncing on the opponent’s silly give away outside the box. The goal also marked the Spaniard’s first in Serie A this season.

The hosts went in search of the equalizer and they perhaps came closer on a few occasions. Lasagna failed on the one-on-one situation against Mirante while Stefano Okaka missed a great chance in the final quarter of the game. Okaka fired his shot wide when there was a chance to square off the pass to his teammates in the box.

Nonetheless, Paulo Fonseca’s men have grabbed up three points following their draw against Juventus last week.
