Napoli picked up a 2-1 win over Udinese in the Italian League earlier tonight.

The Italian giants are now up to 5th in the Italian League table and they will be hoping to build on this and close in on the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan in the coming months.

Napoli are nine points behind league leaders AC Milan but they have a game in hand.

Napoli were awarded a penalty early on in the game after VAR intervened following a blatant foul on Hirving Lozano.

Lorenzo Insigne converted from the penalty spot on the 15th minute and Napoli managed to dominate the game after that.

Udinese came back into the game on the 27th minute through Kevin Lasagna.

However, the home side managed to grind out a result thanks to a 90th-minute header from on-loan Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Napoli are now above the defending Italian champions Juventus in the table and it will be interesting to see if they can build on this and put together a winning run now.

There is no doubt that Napoli have an impressive squad at their disposal and they have underperformed so far.

Meanwhile the defeat tonight leaves Udinese in 14th in the League with 16 points from 16 matches.

They will have to improve a lot in the coming weeks or they could get  drawn into the relegation battle soon.
