Bayern 2-0 Lokomotiv Moscow: Sule, Choupo-Moting on target, Bayern remain unbeaten

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting-Bayern Munich

The defending champions have concluded the group stage with a comprehensive win.

Bayern Munich have ousted Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0 as Niklas Sule and Eric Choupo-Moting scored in the second half.

The first half saw the home side dominate possession though they hardly tested Moscow goalkeeper with dangerous chances.

The intensity continued in the second half as Bayern were happy to keep the ball throughout but this time around, Guilherme was forced off a couple of good saves from Sule and Choupo- Moting, who both would become the eventual goal scorers.

Sule broke the deadlock with an impressive header while Choupo-Moting doubled the lead in the 80th minute with a brilliant strike.

Hansi Flick has proven once again he can obtain results even with the absence of major stars like Robert Lewandowski.

Bayern have been impressive in their title defence so far, winning all the games in the group stage bar the 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid.

The Bavarians were coming off a thrilling draw against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga last weekend and many thought the game against the Russian outfit would be heading towards a draw, Flick managed to pull off an impressive win.

Meanwhile, Lokomotiv Moscow’s European dreams were ended following the defeat and they can’t even participate in Europa League after finishing last in the group.

It remains to be seen how far Flick’s Bayern would travel in the Champions League this season as they are already a top favourite for regaining the title.
