Ferencvaros 0-3 Barcelona: Barcelona register fifth win in UCL

Ousmane Dembele-Barcelona

Barcelona Maintain 100 Percent Record with Ferencvaros Win

Barcelona continued their impressive start to this season’s Champions League by making light work of their opponents on Wednesday.

First-half goals from Martin Braithwaite, Antonio Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele was enough to see the Spanish team record a comfortable 3-nil win over the Hungarian side.

The win saw Barca extend their Champions League winning run to five while scoring 16 times and conceding two.

A much-changed Barcelona side began the game the better of the two teams. The Spanish club were all over their hosts from the first minute and were rewarded with a goal in the 14th minute when an overlapping Jordi Alba found Griezmann with a low cross towards the near post, which the Frenchman cleverly flicked beyond Dibusz.

The goal was the first time the World Cup winner was scoring in three consecutive matches for Barca since he signed in 2017.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 20th minute. This time it was Dembele who was causing the Ferencvaros back-line all sorts of problems that found Martin Braithwaite with an enticing cross to double his side’s lead.

The provider will turn goalscorer eight minutes later as Dembele converted from the spot after Braithwaite had been fouled in the box.

The first half blitz was enough to guarantee a win for Barcelona, who remains the only 100 percent team on the Champions League this season.

The home team are back in action in the weekend with a match against Diosgyor in the Hungarian league before facing Dynamo Kiev in a crucial Champions League game that offers them a chance to qualify for the Europa League.

Barca will face Cadiz next time out in La Liga, before hosting Juventus in a top-of-the-table Champions League clash.
