PSG 5-1 Basaksehir: Neymar, Mbappe entertain fans, PSG in knockout

Barcelona willing to sign both Neymar and Martinez

The dynamic duo shone in the thumping win for the French giants, with Neymar bagging a hat-trick.

PSG have annihilated Istanbul Basaksehir on the final matchday of the group stage, thus ensuring the top spot.

The game resumed from where it was stopped yesterday – after the players walked off the pitch due to alleged racial abuse on Basaksehir’s assistant coach from the fourth official.

The hosts got off to a flyer as Neymar scored the opening goal stunningly before doubling his tally in the 37th minute. The Brazilian had the chance to complete his hat-trick but he allowed his teammate Kylian Mbappe to convert the penalty to make it 3-0 before the half-time.

It only took less than five minutes in the second half for Neymar to complete his hat-trick after scoring another belter of a goal.

Istanbul had some bright moments at the start of the second half as they forced Keylor Navas to a fantastic save before pulling back one in the 57th minute. Mbappe soon put the game to bed once and for all after completing his brace.

The win has now taken PSG to the top of their group, with Leipzig trailing them. Manchester United were eliminated from the Champions League and are now poised to play in the Europa League.

Neymar has carried his fine form from the win against Man Utd at Old Trafford as he has now scored five goals in the last two Champions League games.  The Brazilian’s strike partner Mbappe has also been pivotal to Thomas Tuchel’s side
