Real Madrid 3-2 Inter: Rodrygo scored the late winner for Los Blancos

Karim Benzema-Sergio Ramos-Real Madrid

Los Blancos have edged out Inter 3-2 at Alfredo Di Stefano stadium.

Real Madrid have edged out Inter Milan 3-2 in what turned out as a thrilling encounter.

Both the sides went into the game with the objective of getting their first win and it was Real Madrid who made the initial breakthrough.

Inter’s Achraf Hakimi attempted a dangerous back pass to Samir Handonavic, which Karim Benzema intercepted before sending the ball to the nets.

Soon, Sergio Ramos doubled up the lead with a brilliant header from the corner kick and the goal also marked his 100th with the Los Blancos. Quite an achievement for a central defender.

Inter Milan pulled one back in their favour after Nicolo Barella squared a pass to Lautaro Martinez, who fought off Raphael Varane to send the ball to the nets.

Madrid looked as if they were slipping up their lead after Ivan Perisic put the Nerazzurri on level terms in the 63rd minute with a well-controlled finish to beat Thibaut Courtois. Martinez had a further chance to put the game to bed in a counter-attack, but he fired his shot wide off the post.

Like all the previous games in UCL, Madrid didn’t fail to sport a late drama as substitute Rodrygo scored the winning goal in the 80th minute.

Finally, Los Blancos tasted their first win of the Champions League though it hasn’t come at any easy means. Meanwhile, Inter Milan will have to wait until next matchday for their chance to register their first win.
