Shakhtar 2-0 Real Madrid: Real crash to another defeat against Shakhtar

Zinedine Zidane-Real Madrid

Real Madrid crashed to a 2-0 defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League earlier tonight.

The Ukrainian side managed to beat Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu earlier in the season and tonight’s defeat is disastrous for them.

The Spanish outfit could have qualified for the knockout rounds of the competition with a win here, but instead, they are under immense pressure now, and they could easily drop down to the Europa League.

Manager Zinedine Zidane will be expected to turn things around immediately, and it will be interesting to see how the players react in their next game now.

Shakhtar have given themselves a great chance of making it to the knockout rounds of the competition, and they are now second in their group behind German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.

Dentinho gave Shakhtar the lead in the second half on the 57th minute, and Solomon wrapped up the scoring on the 83rd minute to seal all three points for the home side.

Real Madrid have been in very poor form this season, and they are losing ground in the Spanish League title race as well.

It will be interesting to see if Los Blancos can resurrect their season in the coming weeks.

The fans will certainly be expecting a better performance from their players, and it remains to be seen whether the players can step up and deliver now.

Real Madrid still have a chance of making it to the knockout rounds of the competition, but they will have to beat the group leaders Borussia Monchengladbach in their final group game.
