Slavia Prague 0-0 Leicester: Both teams cancel each other out in a goalless draw

Jamie Vardy-Leicester City

Premier League side Leicester City were held to a goalless draw against Slavia Prague in the Europa League earlier tonight.

The visitors had quite a few key players missing due to injury issues and Brendan Rodgers will be reasonably pleased with his team’s performance here.

Slavia Prague came into this game on the back of an impressive run of form and they would have expected to pick up a win.

However, Leicester were well organised at the back and they managed to keep the home side in check.

The Premier League side will now fancy their chances of going through to the next round by winning the second leg at home.

Neither side managed to create too many chances tonight and a draw was probably the fair result on the balance of play.

The away side were marginally better overall and one would have expected them to get on the score sheet with their preferred front four on the pitch.

The likes of Vardy, Barnes, Maddison and Albrighton all started the game and they had enough quality to get on the score sheet. However, Leicester lacked a cutting edge in the final third and they were easily contained.

Leicester will have to improve in the final third if they want to get through the second leg with a win. They will be favourites to win at the King Power but they cannot afford to underestimate Slavia Prague.
