Sparta Prague 0-1 Milan: Hauge’s first-half strike makes the difference

Jens Petter Hauge-AC Milan

Milan had a rather difficult night to endure nonetheless picked up a narrow win.

AC Milan have edged out Sparta Prague 1-0 away after Jens Petter Hauge scored the only goal of the game.

Stefano Pioli went with a rotated line-up on the final matchday of the Europa League given that they had already secured their qualification to the knockouts.

Swedish sensation Jens Petter Hauge put the visitors ahead in the 23rd minute with a brilliant goal, assisted by Diogo Dalot.

Hauge is already proving to be a top talent as he has already few goals to his name this season despite not being a regular for the side. If he continues to perform like this, Pioli could consider the Swede as a starter in the latter stages of this season.

Apart from that goal, Milan never looked as if they were going to score more and perhaps it was Sparta who slowly dominated the game.

Despite going a man down in the 77th minute, Sparta went all out for the equaliser and even created their best chance in the dying minutes of the game.

However, Milan goalkeeper Ciprian Taturasunu was equally up to the task as he made a good save to prevent the home side’s efforts for the equaliser.

Milan have leapfrogged Lille to the top of the group after the French side suffered a 3-2 defeat against Celtic.

Besides, Rossoneri have also been dominant in Serie A, currently topping the table with 26 points, five points ahead of their arch-rivals Inter, who recently got relegated to Europa League after a poor group stage campaign in the Champions League.
