Argentine football legend Diego Maradona passed away on the 25th of November this year and it seems that the former World Cup winner was suffering from liver, kidney and cardiovascular disorders.
The result of the autopsy also showed that there were no signs of alcohol or narcotics consumption.
The footballing legend passed away after a heart attack at the age of 60 in what came as a massive shock to the footballing world.
While the world was mourning the maverick’s death, an investigation was conducted after his death to find out if there was any negligence in the healthcare clear received but the toxicology analysis showed that there was no alcohol or narcotics in his blood or urine.
The initial autopsy conducted when the footballer passed away showed that the Argentine had acute lungs and heart failure and his heart was twice the normal weight.
The former Napoli star was on antidepressants other medication that is used to treat ulcers, convulsions, dependencies and difficulties in expelling waste.
The Argentine footballer’s life was plagued with controversies and one such controversy was his addiction with cocaine and alcohol.
“What’s come out of the laboratory analysis is as important as what hasn’t, which simply confirms that Maradona was given psychotropic drugs but no medicine for heart disease,” one of the investigators told.
Diego Maradona helped Argentine win the World Cup in 1986 with an unforgettable series of displays and his contribution to putting Napoli on the world map was unparalleled as well.
