Euro 2020 is set to commence on June 11, with host Italy facing Turkey in the opener. Here we take a look at the teams and players in Group A.
Group A comprises of four teams: Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Wales.
Italy
Italy has won four World Cups, making it one of the most successful national teams in the tournament’s history. Italy won their first major European cup and hosted the European Championship in 1968.
Manager
Roberto Mancini is the Italian boss, who played for Sampdoria and Lazio, and responsible for taking Manchester City to the Premier League glory ten years back. He has also managed Serie A clubs, Inter Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina before taking up national duty.

Switzerland
Three quarter-final appearances in the FIFA World Cup, in 1934, 1938, and 1954, were Switzerland’s greatest results. Switzerland’s best-ever performance in an official football competition was a silver medal in the 1924 Olympic Games, as they lost 3–0 to Uruguay in the final.

Vladimir Petkovi is a former professional midfielder and Bosnian-Swiss football manager. He now serves as the head coach of the Swiss national team, having previously managed a number of Swiss clubs as well as Lazio in Italy.

Turkey
Since their initial appearance in the 1924 Summer Olympics, the Turkish squad has competed in major competitions and played their first official international game in 1923. The team’s best results came in the 2000s, with third-place finishes at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup, as well as a semi-final appearance at UEFA Euro 2008.

Senol Güneş, T.C., is a former player and manager in Turkish football. To date, his most famous managerial accomplishments include leading the Turkish national team to third place in the FIFA World Cup in 2002.

Wales
The team climbed from 117th place in 2011 to the eighth rank in 2015, the greatest rise in the history of the FIFA World Rankings. They are also the smallest country in terms of population to ever reach the UEFA European Championship semi-finals, having advanced to the final of the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. Wales also made the quarter-finals of the 1958 FIFA World Cup, in addition to achieving the UEFA Euro 2016 semi-finals.
