Portugal will be defending their European crown this summer, and they have a formidable squad at their disposal.
Cristiano Ronaldo managed to guide his country to glory during the 2016 European Championships, and he will be looking to do the same in what could be his final Euros with Portugal.
Here at Anytime football, we look at predicted Portugal starting lineup for the Euros.
Goalkeeper – Rui Patricio
The Wolves goalkeeper is the best shot-stopper Portugal have. They will need his quality, leadership and experience this summer.
Right back – Joao Cancelo
Cancelo has been a revelation for Manchester City this season, and he has firmly established himself as one of the best fullbacks in Europe.
Centre backs – Ruben Dias and Pepe
Dias scooped up most of the individual awards this past season after a remarkable season with Manchester City, and he is set to partner Pepe at the back, who has been outstanding for Porto.
Left-back – Raphael Guerreiro
The Dortmund left-back adds a fine balance of attack and defence, and he should start ahead of an inexperienced Nuno Mendes this summer.
Midfielders – Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Neves, William Carvalho
Bruno Fernandes is one of Portugal’s best players, and his performance for Manchester United speaks volumes about him. Neves has been exceptional for Wolves, and he would be the ideal playmaker for Portugal from the deep.
Carvalho is likely to play as the defensive midfielder and help break up the opposition play.
Attack – Cristiano Ronaldo, Andre Silva, Joao Felix
Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly the first name on the team sheet, and he is likely to partner Andre Silva and Joao Felix in the attack.
Andre Silva has been in red hot form for Eintracht Frankfurt, and Felix is the most exciting attacker Portugal have produced since Cristiano Ronaldo.
Formation (4-3-3): Patricio, Cancelo, Dias, Pepe, Guerreiro, Carvalho, Neves, Fernandes, Ronaldo, Silva, Felix
