Lukaku, Varane, Jota, Torres, Hazard and other key injury blows during the international break

France clinched the UEFA Nations League title with a 2-1 win over Spain earlier tonight and here at Anytime football, we look at some of the major injuries that have come out of this international break.

Italy – Immobile, Toloi, Pessina

Ciro Immobile had to withdraw from the squad after picking up an injury prior to the match against Spain and he was replaced by Moise Kean. Defender Rafael Toloi was absent during the international break with an injury as well.

Spain – Pedri, Llorente

Versatile Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente had to withdraw from the Spain squad because of an injury and he was replaced by Tottenham winger Bryan Gil.

Barcelona midfielder Pedri missed the international break with an injury and his replacement Brais Mendez was also forced out with an injury prior to the match against Italy.

Meanwhile, Manchester City attacker Ferran Torres limped off against Italy after scoring a brace.

Belgium – Lukaku, Hazard

Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard missed the third-place playoff with injuries and their respective clubs will be hoping that the players can recover swiftly and return later this month.

Thorgan Hazard missed out because of an ankle injury.

France – Varana, Martial, Rabiot, Kante, Dinge

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante missed the international break after testing positive for the coronavirus. Anthony Martial was out injured as well.

 Adrien Rabiot missed the UEFA Nations League final after testing positive for the coronavirus and Lucas Digne is sidelined after picking up a hamstring injury.

Finally, Raphael Varane hobbled out of the UEFA Nations League final between France and Spain with an injury and Manchester United will be worried about the defender’s situation.

Other international games – Jota, Rudiger, Guerreiro

Elsewhere in the international break, the likes of Diogo Jota have picked up an injury as well. The Portuguese attacker missed his country’s friendly against Qatar on Saturday with a muscle problem.

His compatriot Raphael Guerreiro had to withdraw from the squad after complaining of an issue during Wednesday’s training session.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger also picked up an injury in training with Germany.
