Bayern have progressed to the finals of the Club World Cup after comfortably defeating Al-Ahly.

As expected, Bayern Munich had a rather comfortable outing against African champions Al Ahly, defeating them 2-0 to advance to the finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.

It was the first game for Bayern in the competition and they couldn’t have asked for a better result than this.

Al-Ahly went all guns blazing against the European champions, as their manager had stated earlier that his side has got nothing to lose against someone as big as Bayern.

However, Bayern dominated the proceedings from the off, with Robert Lewandowski finding the opener after being fed by Serge Gnabry in the nets.

The Polish striker could have easily doubled the lead after an eye-catching interplay with Joshua Kimmich, but he spurned his chance by sending the ball over the post.

Lewandowski found his second of the night with only a few minutes left in the clock, latching on to a brilliant cross from Leroy Sane to score a near-post header.

The Bavarians No.9 has been relentless this season as he has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season so far.

Bayern will face Liga Max champions Tigres UANL in the final on Thursday and manager Hansi Flick is expecting some better performance from the treble winners.

“I’m glad we won the game. We all noticed that the journey wasn’t perfect,” said Flick. “In that respect, I am satisfied. But we also know that we have made life difficult for ourselves. I expect that we will do better in the final.”

Flick also gave his assessment on the Mexcian club, describing them as dynamic and Athletic.
