Macarthur FC

Macarthur FC will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they welcome Central Coast Mariners to South Western Sydney.

The hosts have begun their new league season with a win and a draw from two games. They won their most recent meeting which was with Sydney FC, thanks to an early goal from Lachlam Rose.

The result extended their unbeaten start to the season to three games, following their 3-0 win over Newcastle Olympic in the FFA Cup.

The hosts secured a top-six finish in their last season, which was their inaugural campaign in the A-League. They are looking to secure their second consecutive play-off place this season and will be desperate to ensure that they win this game against a side they beat in the quarter-final stage of the Final Series last season.

Possible Macarthur FC starting line-ups

Nicholas Suman; Aleksandar Susnjar, Aleksandar Jovanovic, Tomislav Uskok; James Meredith, Charles M’Mombwa, Jordon Mutch, Craig Noone; Daniel De Silva, Lachlan Rose, Ulises Davila.

Central Coast Mariners

After their 2-1 win over Wollongong Wolves in the FFA round of eight, Central Coast Mariners will turn their attention to the league when they face Macarthur FC.

The visitors have picked up three wins in four games this season (L1). One of those wins came in their first FFA game against Blackburn, followed by a 2-1 win over Newcastle Jets in their opening league game of the season.

But after beating Newcastle Jets, Nick Montgomery’s side were beaten by Wellington Phoenix in their second league game of the season, leaving them sitting inside the playoff places at the end of the second round.

After winning the ‘Wooden Spoon’ of the 2019/2020 season, Mariners improved last season to finish in third place.

They will now aim to build on their improvement and perhaps secure a top-two finish this time around. But first, they must secure a win in this game to keep themselves within the top of the tree.

Possible Central Coast Mariners starting line-ups

Mark Birighitti; Jacob Farrell, Kye Rowles, Lewis Miller, Storm Roux; Max Balard, Oliver Bozanic, Beni N’Kololo, Josh Nisbet; Marco Urena, Matt Simon.
